Digital Signage Request

Follow

Thank you for your interest in advertising on the Evangel Digital Signage System.

Your requested content needs to be specifically for Evangel news, events, and general faculty/student/staff information. We will not post advertisements for other companies, and we reserve the right to not post anything the Digital Signage Team (DS team) feels to be inappropriate.

Your content will not display on all signs because some of the signs are department specific. We ask that prior to advertising an event, contact Conference Services to make sure the event has been booked for you.

Please allow one business day for the Digital Signage Team to upload your content.

If you need access permissions to edit the content on a department specific sign, please email the Digital Signage team at digitalsignage@evangel.edu and list your name and the department sign you’re needing to access.

For questions or to report an issue please contact Help Desk by email at helpdesk@evangel.edu, by phone at extension x8368 or HELP, or by submitting a help desk ticket through your employee, faculty, or student portal under the Services Tab.

If you have been given the access to put up your own content, please see the Editing Your Own Content portion of the instructions.

Submitting Your Content for Public Signs

If you are wanting to submit a slide to go on all of the Public signs that are not department specific, please follow these steps:

Step 1

Create your content. Content can be PowerPoint Slides, Images, or Videos.

For PowerPoint slides, we ask that you create a 16x9 (widescreen) slide presentation. Please edit your slide to reflect these settings:

  1. Open a new PowerPoint file.
  2. Click the “Design” tab on the top ribbon.
  3. Select the “Page Setup” icon on the left.
  4. In the pop up, there will be a drop down menu labeled “Slides Sized For.” Select “On-screen Show (16:9), then select OK.

For Images and Pictures, insert them into Power Point with the above settings and submit them as a .pptx file.

For Videos, the file format needs to be .mp4.

Step 2

Email digitalsignage@evangel.edu with your content and write a message to notify the DS team of the files being submitted. Please include any instructions in the email, and start and end dates, if needed.

Note: Please refrain from relying on us to create content for you based on information you give us. This helps us respond to requests in a timely manner, plus your content will look exactly as you would like!

Editing Your Own Content

Step 2

Click on your Start Menu-> Computer-> Departments G: Drive-> Signage_”DepartmentName”->”DepartmentNameAds.pptx”

Copy the slide you created and paste it into the “DepartmentNameAds.pptx” file to a new slide. Select “Keep Source Formatting” when you paste the slide.

Select the “Transitions” tab in the toolbar and under the Advance Slide area, select the box next to After: and make sure to have 7 seconds in the box displayed next to the word “After.”

Step 3

When you’re finished editing your PowerPoint “DepartmentName.pptx” file, click the Save button or press Ctrl-S on your keyboard.

Now go to File-> Export-> Create a Video-> Create Video-> Save (Make sure it’s named as your “DepartmentNameAds.mp4” or else it will not display on the signs)-> Yes.

Important: The exported file name must be in the “DepartmentNameAds.mp4.”

i.e. “HumanitiesAds.mp4”

Allow the file time to export as this may take a few minutes.

Note: In the video below, it states that video formats need to be WMV. This is incorrect as it needs to be an .MP4.
